What are 1-on-1s?
A 1-on-1 is a private meeting between you and another person, often your manager or a person on your team.
Who can I have a 1-on-1 with?
You can have a 1-on-1 with anyone at your company that is using Flint. When you log in, you will automatically have a 1-on-1 setup between you and your manager. You can create a 1-on-1 anytime.
Can I schedule a 1-on-1?
Yes, you can and we encourage it! Scheduling your 1-on-1 in Flint will provide you with notifications aligned with your meeting date and time, helping you to prepare effectively.
Can I delete a 1-on-1?
You can delete 1-on-1s with peers, but not with your manager or your direct reports.
How do 1-on-1s work with other features in Flint?
1-on-1s bring all of the other elements of Flint together. The 1-on-1 tool makes it easy to keep goals accurate and top of mind, and to ensure you’re logging your work and impact in a timely manner.
Are 1-on-1s private?
Each 1-on-1 session includes a 'Private Notes' section where you can securely record thoughts and observations that are only visible to you.
What are the different notes sections in my 1-on-1?
[Name]’s Shared Notes: Notes taken by the person you’re meeting with and shared with you.
Your Shared Notes: Notes you’ve taken that are visible to the person you’re meeting with.
Private Notes: Notes that are only visible to you
How do I see previous 1-on-1 agendas and notes?
You can view previous 1-on-1s by using the arrows at the top of the page. The active 1-on-1 will be labeled as “Current,” and you can navigate between past agendas using these arrows.

Your 1-on-1s with your manager may include additional sections depending on your company’s Flint configuration. These may include:
Goals: Access quick snapshots of your goal progress and keep on track with Flint’s smart, automated prompts.
Journal: Share your work updates and collaborate with your manager by commenting on your tasks, ensuring they are aligned with and tagged to your goals.
Alignment Indicators: Manage your journal entries and maintain consistent 1-on-1s with your manager, guided by your company’s expectations.
Why is Flint adding items to my agenda with my manager?
Flint adds items to your agenda to help you and your manager stay aligned and ensure important conversations are addressed. You may see agenda items with a flame icon—these were automatically added by Flint to prompt discussions and keep both of you in sync. These prompts are designed to help build strong feedback habits and enhance your overall collaboration.
